AI Reskilling

The UK has a target to reskill 10 million people for an AI-enabled economy. Here's how AI for Growth is contributing.

The challenge

Most people in UK businesses haven't been shown how AI applies to their job. Not because they're not interested — but because the learning on offer is either too technical, too generic, or too expensive to roll out at scale.

Small businesses in particular tend to miss out. They don't have L&D teams. They can't send people on week-long courses. And most AI training isn't designed with them in mind.

That's the gap we're working to close.

What we're doing

AI for Growth is building practical, accessible learning resources designed specifically for UK businesses — and connecting them through a community where people can learn from each other, not just from content.

Our reskilling work runs across two main initiatives.

SME AI Community

A free community platform where UK business owners and their teams can ask questions, share what's working, and learn from others who've already been through it.

It's peer-to-peer learning, supported by experts and AI tools — not a course, not a webinar, not another thing to sit through. Just honest conversation between people figuring this out together.

The community is built on Circle and open to any UK SME. You don't need to be technical to join.

AI Learning Agent

A national-scale conversational AI learning product that makes practical AI education feel human — with regional accent options and the ability to learn at your own pace, in your own time.

Built with ElevenLabs (an AI for Growth partner), the AI Learning Agent is designed to reach people who wouldn't engage with traditional online learning — and to work at the scale the UK's reskilling challenge requires.

ElevenLabs is an AI for Growth partner and contributed the voice AI technology that powers this tool.
